Narrative:
Maintenance department failed to have logbook on airplane 15 mins prior to departure per company operations procedure. Flight crew performed originating checklist but, while still waiting for logbook to appear, continued past that item on checklist without 'holding the list at that point,' finished the checklist. This was the third pre-dawn departure in a row and there were other abnormalities to be solved that morning which distraction flight crew.

Title: AN MD80 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH NO LOGBOOK BOARDED BY MAINT.
Narrative: MAINT DEPT FAILED TO HAVE LOGBOOK ON AIRPLANE 15 MINS PRIOR TO DEP PER COMPANY OPS PROC. FLC PERFORMED ORIGINATING CHKLIST BUT, WHILE STILL WAITING FOR LOGBOOK TO APPEAR, CONTINUED PAST THAT ITEM ON CHKLIST WITHOUT 'HOLDING THE LIST AT THAT POINT,' FINISHED THE CHKLIST. THIS WAS THE THIRD PRE-DAWN DEP IN A ROW AND THERE WERE OTHER ABNORMALITIES TO BE SOLVED THAT MORNING WHICH DISTR FLC.
