Narrative:
On a flight from san-dfw, during cockpit preflight in san, fire test indicated bad fire loop. Upon contacting maintenance and advising them of the discrepancy, the crew proceeded to note the problem into the logbook, at which time we discovered 2 prior write-ups in the logbook that were not addressed prior to our originating flight (ZZZ-san). First write-up was autoplt disconnected twice during flight and second write-up was an overhead annunciator panel light indicating 'elevator control manual.' the flight from ZZZ-san was uneventful and neither write-ups duplicated during the entire flight. San maintenance was then advised as to the overlooked write-ups and a return-to-service check was then completed by maintenance. All discrepancies were then signed off and the flight from san-dfw was continued.

Title: AN MD90 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH 2 OPEN MAINT LOGBOOK RPTS.
Narrative: ON A FLT FROM SAN-DFW, DURING COCKPIT PREFLT IN SAN, FIRE TEST INDICATED BAD FIRE LOOP. UPON CONTACTING MAINT AND ADVISING THEM OF THE DISCREPANCY, THE CREW PROCEEDED TO NOTE THE PROB INTO THE LOGBOOK, AT WHICH TIME WE DISCOVERED 2 PRIOR WRITE-UPS IN THE LOGBOOK THAT WERE NOT ADDRESSED PRIOR TO OUR ORIGINATING FLT (ZZZ-SAN). FIRST WRITE-UP WAS AUTOPLT DISCONNECTED TWICE DURING FLT AND SECOND WRITE-UP WAS AN OVERHEAD ANNUNCIATOR PANEL LIGHT INDICATING 'ELEVATOR CTL MANUAL.' THE FLT FROM ZZZ-SAN WAS UNEVENTFUL AND NEITHER WRITE-UPS DUPLICATED DURING THE ENTIRE FLT. SAN MAINT WAS THEN ADVISED AS TO THE OVERLOOKED WRITE-UPS AND A RETURN-TO-SVC CHK WAS THEN COMPLETED BY MAINT. ALL DISCREPANCIES WERE THEN SIGNED OFF AND THE FLT FROM SAN-DFW WAS CONTINUED.
