Narrative:
Rejected takeoff at 40 KTS runway 21R at dtw. Taxied back to blocks. Maintenance determined that poor nosewheel steering causing rejected takeoff was due to over-servicing of nose strut. Strut problem was fixed, logbook cleared with next takeoff attempt normal.

Title: A DC8-73F ON TKOF ROLL REJECTED TKOF AT 40 KTS DUE TO NOSEWHEEL STEERING PROB CAUSED BY AN OVER-SVCED NOSE GEAR STRUT.
Narrative: REJECTED TKOF AT 40 KTS RWY 21R AT DTW. TAXIED BACK TO BLOCKS. MAINT DETERMINED THAT POOR NOSEWHEEL STEERING CAUSING REJECTED TKOF WAS DUE TO OVER-SVCING OF NOSE STRUT. STRUT PROB WAS FIXED, LOGBOOK CLRED WITH NEXT TKOF ATTEMPT NORMAL.
