Narrative:
En route to ewr, the purser advised me of problematic passenger in seat xf. I contacted the station in ewr and requested that police and a supervisor meet the flight at arrival in ewr. The passenger made threatening statements directed towards other passenger and appeared intoxicated. After arrival in ewr, the passenger was escorted off aircraft by police. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that the man threatened to kill the woman with 2 young children who sat in front of them. The flight attendants couldn't relocate anyone, as it was a full flight. He hadn't been served liquor in 3 hours, but his eyes were reacting like he was on a drug of some sort -- 1 pupil was very enlarged and the other one small, and then the eyes would switch. A couple of passenger, including an off duty policeman, volunteered to keep the man under control for landing. The most disappointing thing to the reporter was that the police said that they couldn't do anything, and that they needed the local fbi in ewr to file charges, which is rarely done. He felt that the man was too threatening to be on an airplane again. He threatened the police and fought with them, but still no charges were pressed.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: PAX THREATENED TO KILL WOMAN WITH CHILDREN SITTING IN FRONT OF HIM. POLICE ESCORTED HIM OFF. NO CHARGES FILED.
Narrative: ENRTE TO EWR, THE PURSER ADVISED ME OF PROBLEMATIC PAX IN SEAT XF. I CONTACTED THE STATION IN EWR AND REQUESTED THAT POLICE AND A SUPVR MEET THE FLT AT ARR IN EWR. THE PAX MADE THREATENING STATEMENTS DIRECTED TOWARDS OTHER PAX AND APPEARED INTOXICATED. AFTER ARR IN EWR, THE PAX WAS ESCORTED OFF ACFT BY POLICE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT THE MAN THREATENED TO KILL THE WOMAN WITH 2 YOUNG CHILDREN WHO SAT IN FRONT OF THEM. THE FLT ATTENDANTS COULDN'T RELOCATE ANYONE, AS IT WAS A FULL FLT. HE HADN'T BEEN SERVED LIQUOR IN 3 HRS, BUT HIS EYES WERE REACTING LIKE HE WAS ON A DRUG OF SOME SORT -- 1 PUPIL WAS VERY ENLARGED AND THE OTHER ONE SMALL, AND THEN THE EYES WOULD SWITCH. A COUPLE OF PAX, INCLUDING AN OFF DUTY POLICEMAN, VOLUNTEERED TO KEEP THE MAN UNDER CTL FOR LNDG. THE MOST DISAPPOINTING THING TO THE RPTR WAS THAT THE POLICE SAID THAT THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING, AND THAT THEY NEEDED THE LCL FBI IN EWR TO FILE CHARGES, WHICH IS RARELY DONE. HE FELT THAT THE MAN WAS TOO THREATENING TO BE ON AN AIRPLANE AGAIN. HE THREATENED THE POLICE AND FOUGHT WITH THEM, BUT STILL NO CHARGES WERE PRESSED.
