Narrative:

The following explains the events surrounding a miscom between fxe tower and aircraft X on jan/sun/01. After receiving IFR clearance, aircraft X was instructed by ground to taxi to runway 31 and remain on ground until #1 for takeoff, then switch to tower. When #1 for takeoff, aircraft switched to tower. Fxe had simultaneous runway operations in effect for runway 31 and runway 26. Aircraft was given 2 hold short instructions, aircraft X acknowledged both and complied. The crew of aircraft X heard instructions for position and hold. Aircraft X acknowledged the position and hold instructions, checked the final approach path to runway 31 to ensure it was clear, and pulled onto the runway and held for tower to give takeoff clearance. After a pause, fxe tower questioned the position of aircraft X. Aircraft X advised we were cleared for position and hold on runway 31 and were on the runway awaiting takeoff clearance. Tower advised aircraft X was given a hold short and for us to taxi off the runway at the first turnoff and return in sequence for departure, and to contact the tower on our return. Aircraft X contacted the tower on our return to fxe. This was clearly a miscom between fxe tower and aircraft X. No other aircraft was affected.

Title: A C340 CREW TAKES RWY POS AND HOLD MEANT FOR ANOTHER ACFT AT FXE, FL.

Narrative: THE FOLLOWING EXPLAINS THE EVENTS SURROUNDING A MISCOM BTWN FXE TWR AND ACFT X ON JAN/SUN/01. AFTER RECEIVING IFR CLRNC, ACFT X WAS INSTRUCTED BY GND TO TAXI TO RWY 31 AND REMAIN ON GND UNTIL #1 FOR TKOF, THEN SWITCH TO TWR. WHEN #1 FOR TKOF, ACFT SWITCHED TO TWR. FXE HAD SIMULTANEOUS RWY OPS IN EFFECT FOR RWY 31 AND RWY 26. ACFT WAS GIVEN 2 HOLD SHORT INSTRUCTIONS, ACFT X ACKNOWLEDGED BOTH AND COMPLIED. THE CREW OF ACFT X HEARD INSTRUCTIONS FOR POS AND HOLD. ACFT X ACKNOWLEDGED THE POS AND HOLD INSTRUCTIONS, CHKED THE FINAL APCH PATH TO RWY 31 TO ENSURE IT WAS CLR, AND PULLED ONTO THE RWY AND HELD FOR TWR TO GIVE TKOF CLRNC. AFTER A PAUSE, FXE TWR QUESTIONED THE POS OF ACFT X. ACFT X ADVISED WE WERE CLRED FOR POS AND HOLD ON RWY 31 AND WERE ON THE RWY AWAITING TKOF CLRNC. TWR ADVISED ACFT X WAS GIVEN A HOLD SHORT AND FOR US TO TAXI OFF THE RWY AT THE FIRST TURNOFF AND RETURN IN SEQUENCE FOR DEP, AND TO CONTACT THE TWR ON OUR RETURN. ACFT X CONTACTED THE TWR ON OUR RETURN TO FXE. THIS WAS CLRLY A MISCOM BTWN FXE TWR AND ACFT X. NO OTHER ACFT WAS AFFECTED.
