Narrative:

We departed obe direct opf VFR. Mia approach was calling traffic and we were searching for and locating traffic. They called the airport at approximately 10 O'clock position. We spotted it. They then handed us to tower and we were cleared to land runway 9L. We turned left immediately approximately 8-9 mi final, lined right up with runway. I landed runway 12 in error. On approach, I checked the directional gyro -- it showed about 090 degrees. I should have doublechked airport diagram. Wind was 070 degrees at 20 KTS, so the crosswind correction gave me the 090 degrees on the directional gyro. This should have made me think. Also, first time into opf, unfamiliar with airport and was very busy watching other traffic. Discovered wrong runway when notified by tower on rollout. No other aircraft problems created.

Title: A C340 PLT LANDED ON WRONG RWY.

Narrative: WE DEPARTED OBE DIRECT OPF VFR. MIA APCH WAS CALLING TFC AND WE WERE SEARCHING FOR AND LOCATING TFC. THEY CALLED THE ARPT AT APPROX 10 O'CLOCK POS. WE SPOTTED IT. THEY THEN HANDED US TO TWR AND WE WERE CLRED TO LAND RWY 9L. WE TURNED L IMMEDIATELY APPROX 8-9 MI FINAL, LINED RIGHT UP WITH RWY. I LANDED RWY 12 IN ERROR. ON APCH, I CHKED THE DIRECTIONAL GYRO -- IT SHOWED ABOUT 090 DEGS. I SHOULD HAVE DOUBLECHKED ARPT DIAGRAM. WIND WAS 070 DEGS AT 20 KTS, SO THE XWIND CORRECTION GAVE ME THE 090 DEGS ON THE DIRECTIONAL GYRO. THIS SHOULD HAVE MADE ME THINK. ALSO, FIRST TIME INTO OPF, UNFAMILIAR WITH ARPT AND WAS VERY BUSY WATCHING OTHER TFC. DISCOVERED WRONG RWY WHEN NOTIFIED BY TWR ON ROLLOUT. NO OTHER ACFT PROBS CREATED.
