Narrative:

After receiving vectors from approach control, we were cleared for a visual approach and told to contact the tower at the marker. Approximately 2 mi before the marker, we began to configure the aircraft for landing and experienced a minor and easily correctable mechanical problem. I was hand flying the approach while the first officer corrected the problem and completed the checklists. There was a miscom in the cockpit, and we failed to contact the tower at the marker. After landing, ground control informed us we had landed without a clearance. Fortunately, no incursions occurred because we were the only aircraft arriving or departing from that runway at that time.

Title: A D328 CREW LAND WITHOUT CLEARANCE.

Narrative: AFTER RECEIVING VECTORS FROM APCH CTL, WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH AND TOLD TO CONTACT THE TWR AT THE MARKER. APPROX 2 MI BEFORE THE MARKER, WE BEGAN TO CONFIGURE THE ACFT FOR LNDG AND EXPERIENCED A MINOR AND EASILY CORRECTABLE MECHANICAL PROB. I WAS HAND FLYING THE APCH WHILE THE FO CORRECTED THE PROB AND COMPLETED THE CHKLISTS. THERE WAS A MISCOM IN THE COCKPIT, AND WE FAILED TO CONTACT THE TWR AT THE MARKER. AFTER LNDG, GND CTL INFORMED US WE HAD LANDED WITHOUT A CLRNC. FORTUNATELY, NO INCURSIONS OCCURRED BECAUSE WE WERE THE ONLY ACFT ARRIVING OR DEPARTING FROM THAT RWY AT THAT TIME.
