Narrative:
I advised the captain that a new date was required on the FMC software. I showed him that I updated the active program to thur, march 2001. The out of date message disappeared, and we continued to set up the aircraft.

Title: FMC DATA BASE FOUND OUT OF DATE DURING PREFLT.
Narrative: I ADVISED THE CAPT THAT A NEW DATE WAS REQUIRED ON THE FMC SOFTWARE. I SHOWED HIM THAT I UPDATED THE ACTIVE PROGRAM TO THUR, MARCH 2001. THE OUT OF DATE MESSAGE DISAPPEARED, AND WE CONTINUED TO SET UP THE ACFT.
