Narrative:
My problem was initiated at smo airport. I had just arrived on an IFR flight from sun. My passenger was dropped and I made a quick turn for my final destination (myf). I read the special VFR flight rules out of my chart. While on the ground at smo, I contacted the ground controller or a code for class B clearance for the coastline route sbound. The controller recommended a right 270 degree turn prior to proceeding sbound. I assumed the turn was recommended in order to make the minimum altitude of 2500 ft. While in climb out, I was approved for a frequency change. While climbing in a r-hand turn, I contacted socal at frequency 134.9. The controller immediately gave me a phone number and cleared me to 14500 ft. I believe a significant controling factor for the problem was the assignment of the incorrect code from the ground controller. I should have read the regulation more thoroughly as it clearly states 'remain clear of class B until receiving specific approval to enter.'

Title: UNAUTH PENETRATION OF CLASS B AIRSPACE BY A PVT PLT IN A PA46-350 NEAR SMO, CA.
Narrative: MY PROB WAS INITIATED AT SMO ARPT. I HAD JUST ARRIVED ON AN IFR FLT FROM SUN. MY PAX WAS DROPPED AND I MADE A QUICK TURN FOR MY FINAL DEST (MYF). I READ THE SPECIAL VFR FLT RULES OUT OF MY CHART. WHILE ON THE GND AT SMO, I CONTACTED THE GND CTLR OR A CODE FOR CLASS B CLRNC FOR THE COASTLINE RTE SBOUND. THE CTLR RECOMMENDED A R 270 DEG TURN PRIOR TO PROCEEDING SBOUND. I ASSUMED THE TURN WAS RECOMMENDED IN ORDER TO MAKE THE MINIMUM ALT OF 2500 FT. WHILE IN CLBOUT, I WAS APPROVED FOR A FREQ CHANGE. WHILE CLBING IN A R-HAND TURN, I CONTACTED SOCAL AT FREQ 134.9. THE CTLR IMMEDIATELY GAVE ME A PHONE NUMBER AND CLRED ME TO 14500 FT. I BELIEVE A SIGNIFICANT CTLING FACTOR FOR THE PROB WAS THE ASSIGNMENT OF THE INCORRECT CODE FROM THE GND CTLR. I SHOULD HAVE READ THE REG MORE THOROUGHLY AS IT CLRLY STATES 'REMAIN CLR OF CLASS B UNTIL RECEIVING SPECIFIC APPROVAL TO ENTER.'
