Narrative:
Approximately 30-45 mins into flight, heard loud bang throughout aircraft by all. Continued beverage service until captain called to approach cockpit. Captain asked if heard loud bang, said yes. Captain said #2 engine out, turn back to dfw. Got information from captain, but said not necessary, prepare for emergency landing, plan emergency evacuate/evacuation. Informed #2 and #4 flight attendants. Secured galleys/cabins for landing in 20 mins. No difference with #2 engine out. Flight smooth and normal. Safe landing, taxi in, deplane of passenger, swap equipment adjacent to catering. Reboarded passenger, continued flight to pdx. Approximately 5 passenger rebooked for next day. All passenger extremely happy and thankful they arrived/landed safely.
