Narrative:
We briefed this departure and had 1500 ft in the altitude alerter. I climbed to 1700 ft for a moment then back to 1500 ft. Should have turned the autoplt 'on' and reduced climb power more to slow things down. I should not have climbed above 1500 ft until 4.5 DME... This 1700 ft was about 3 DME from teb. We have a sic call at 1000 ft before as: out of 500 ft for 1500 ft; but I don't think the sic called it... But I should have called it also!
