Narrative:

ATC gave us short notice on crossing at larks. 15 mi prior, ATC instructed to cross larks at 17000 ft, 250 KTS. We vacated FL240, 280 KTS, at idle, full speed brake. Advised ZDV crossing would be tough to achieve. Asked for altitude or airspeed latitude and controller snapped, 'unable...here's the number to call upon landing.' we reached 17000 ft at larks and 290 KTS reaching 250 KTS 1.0 mi inside larks. Controller unimpressed and said to call. Captain called ZDV supervisor and the supervisor stated no separation was lost and that the controller on duty was inflexible due to workload. No further action was taken by supervisor.
