Narrative:
On a round trip from san antonio, tx, while coming into land at dallas love field, the approach controller handed me to the tower. The tower controller asked me to turn right base for runway 13R and report. I mistook runway 13R and overshot runway 13R on base leg. At this point the tower controller asked me to turn left and circle around for runway 13L, but again got disoriented. At this point, she asked me to turn left, climb 2000 ft and contact approach. The approach suggested I do an ILS into runway 13R and vectored me the final approach course. While making the approach, I was encountered with turbulence buffeting and gusty winds. 50 ft over the threshold, heavy gust blew the plane sideways which caused it to lose its centerline approach. I corrected this and proceeded to a right, 1-POINT landing and just at this point, encountered another gust which yawed the aircraft unctlably to the left. The plane departed the runway crossing the grassy patch to the taxiway before I could get it back on the taxiway to stop. During this, I broke it seems either a taxiway light or runway light. I'm not sure, but there was no damage to the plane. In the morning, the mechanic checked, but there was grass or pieces of glass on the left wheel which presumably struck the light on the side of the runway.

Title: C172 PLT BECAME DISORIENTED DURING LNDG APCH AND LINED UP WITH THE WRONG PARALLEL RWY AND WAS ASSISTED BY ATC FOR ANOTHER APCH FOR THE CORRECT RWY. SUBSEQUENTLY, THE PLT LOST DIRECTIONAL CTL DURING LNDG IN GUSTY WINDS AND RAN OFF THE SIDE OF THE RWY HITTING A RWY LIGHT
Narrative: ON A ROUND TRIP FROM SAN ANTONIO, TX, WHILE COMING INTO LAND AT DALLAS LOVE FIELD, THE APCH CTLR HANDED ME TO THE TWR. THE TWR CTLR ASKED ME TO TURN R BASE FOR RWY 13R AND RPT. I MISTOOK RWY 13R AND OVERSHOT RWY 13R ON BASE LEG. AT THIS POINT THE TWR CTLR ASKED ME TO TURN L AND CIRCLE AROUND FOR RWY 13L, BUT AGAIN GOT DISORIENTED. AT THIS POINT, SHE ASKED ME TO TURN L, CLB 2000 FT AND CONTACT APCH. THE APCH SUGGESTED I DO AN ILS INTO RWY 13R AND VECTORED ME THE FINAL APCH COURSE. WHILE MAKING THE APCH, I WAS ENCOUNTERED WITH TURB BUFFETING AND GUSTY WINDS. 50 FT OVER THE THRESHOLD, HVY GUST BLEW THE PLANE SIDEWAYS WHICH CAUSED IT TO LOSE ITS CTRLINE APCH. I CORRECTED THIS AND PROCEEDED TO A R, 1-POINT LNDG AND JUST AT THIS POINT, ENCOUNTERED ANOTHER GUST WHICH YAWED THE ACFT UNCTLABLY TO THE L. THE PLANE DEPARTED THE RWY XING THE GRASSY PATCH TO THE TXWY BEFORE I COULD GET IT BACK ON THE TXWY TO STOP. DURING THIS, I BROKE IT SEEMS EITHER A TXWY LIGHT OR RWY LIGHT. I'M NOT SURE, BUT THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE PLANE. IN THE MORNING, THE MECH CHKED, BUT THERE WAS GRASS OR PIECES OF GLASS ON THE L WHEEL WHICH PRESUMABLY STRUCK THE LIGHT ON THE SIDE OF THE RWY.
