Narrative:
While taxiing to runway 35R for takeoff, I saw a sign that said runway 35R approach. It was VMC and I overheard an aircraft on visual approach to that runway. I taxied to the normal hold short and then was told I was supposed to stop at the runway 35R approach sign. The commercial chart section is not really clear on this point. I suggest clarifying the commercial charts and disseminating this information to all concerned. If this is standard procedure for louisville, a note on the airport page would help eliminate confusion.
