Narrative:
While releasing aircraft from service check, possibly inadvertently copied (transcribed) wrong work release item number into logbook entry. I realized next evening while releasing another aircraft for service that I could have possibly used wrong item number on previous aircraft (no way to verify error due to computer system is antiquated).
