Narrative:
Sfo ground control cleared us to taxi to runway 1R via taxiway a and taxiway A1. The commercial sfo chart states that 'widebody transport, tri-jet' aircraft are not to use taxiway A1 due to jetblast to autos on the adjacent freeway at the airport. We asked ground for clarification and ground stated 'your information is wrong.' we continued via taxiway a, taxiway A1 to runway 1R. Departure was uneventful. Either the commercial chart is wrong or sfo ground is wrong, or there is a NOTAM that we don't know about. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the clearance was questioned when it was given so that there would have been other routing available. The reporter indicated that he used only the wing mounted engines to reduce any hazard that may have been present caused by jetblast. Taxiway a was closed for construction. There was some delay after the clearance was questioned indicating confusion or time being taken to clarify the correctness of the routing by the ATCT controller.

Title: A 3 ENG WDB FLC QUESTIONS TAXI CLRNC AT SFO WHEN CLRED TO USE TXWY A1. THE COMMERCIAL ARPT CHART INDICATES THAT THIS TYPE ACFT IS RESTR ON THAT TXWY.
Narrative: SFO GND CTL CLRED US TO TAXI TO RWY 1R VIA TXWY A AND TXWY A1. THE COMMERCIAL SFO CHART STATES THAT 'WDB, TRI-JET' ACFT ARE NOT TO USE TXWY A1 DUE TO JETBLAST TO AUTOS ON THE ADJACENT FREEWAY AT THE ARPT. WE ASKED GND FOR CLARIFICATION AND GND STATED 'YOUR INFO IS WRONG.' WE CONTINUED VIA TXWY A, TXWY A1 TO RWY 1R. DEP WAS UNEVENTFUL. EITHER THE COMMERCIAL CHART IS WRONG OR SFO GND IS WRONG, OR THERE IS A NOTAM THAT WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE CLRNC WAS QUESTIONED WHEN IT WAS GIVEN SO THAT THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN OTHER ROUTING AVAILABLE. THE RPTR INDICATED THAT HE USED ONLY THE WING MOUNTED ENGS TO REDUCE ANY HAZARD THAT MAY HAVE BEEN PRESENT CAUSED BY JETBLAST. TXWY A WAS CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION. THERE WAS SOME DELAY AFTER THE CLRNC WAS QUESTIONED INDICATING CONFUSION OR TIME BEING TAKEN TO CLARIFY THE CORRECTNESS OF THE ROUTING BY THE ATCT CTLR.
