Narrative:

An MEL (07-142DC-8 reference 2201) was issued on jul/xa/01 and later closed on jul/xd/01 using the 3 days allowed under this reference. On jul/xe/01, myself along with my training partner issued another MEL (07-241 dc-8) with the same reference (22.01). The MEL computer let this MEL be issued without any override that should have been required by the computer to keep MEL's of this nature from being issued. We were unaware at that time of the recent history of this aircraft necessitating lockout of this MEL regulation being reissued.
