Narrative:
Cleared for taxi across runway 18R at dfw at same time another was taking of. We were rolling on the hi speed when ground gave us the clearance to cross the left runway. I saw the aircraft on the runway holding in position. As I entered the runway it appeared the other aircraft was moving, I thought he was taxiing. I then realized he was on takeoff roll so I added power and got about half of my aircraft off the runway when he overflew me by approximately 100 ft. I believe the next time I'm cleared to roll across an active runway with an aircraft in position, I will stop to make sure he's not moving. I should have had a greater attitude of vulnerability and 'expected' that the other aircraft could be rolling for takeoff!
