Narrative:
Our gate man worked on the cockpit door lock and told me it was fixed. It was not. He had to be called back with a maintenance supervisor to finish the job. The supervisor left and I asked him if all the circuit breakers were pulled for the APU deferral. On preflight I believe all breakers were in. He said the required breakers were in the aft pit and were pulled and capped. Upon pulling up the MEL item on ACARS after takeoff I saw that circuit breaker B34 on P11 was to be pulled and capped. It was out but not capped. Later into the flight I noticed spare parts on the floor by the door. Were these from the door? Mr X needs to be counseled by a manager to double check his work and not to lie to the cockpit crew members.
