Narrative:

On final approach to runway 36R at mco we were at 6000 ft cleared to intercept ILS while circumnavigating thunderstorms. Picked up runway about 2 mi out, another aircraft was sitting on runway. We were high on GS. At about 800 ft with the other aircraft still on runway we commenced a go around. Tried to notify tower. Unable due to tower talking to several other aircraft trying to avoid WX. Missed approach instructions call for straight ahead climb to 500 ft followed by left climbing turn to OM NDB to 3000 ft and hold. Finally got through to tower going through 2000 ft indicated. Tower instructed us to turn left to heading 190 degrees and climb to 4000 ft. On contact with approach, approach told him we were high on GS and because of the other aircraft on runway. He said there was plenty of separation between that aircraft and us. He said it was unusual for a large aircraft to go around at mco. Got vectored for another ILS with approach and landing uneventful. While turning off runway tower instructed us to call approach control via telephone. That individual advised me had I contacted tower as soon as possible they would have climbed us to 15000 ft until end of runway due to an airway passing over the airport at 2500 ft. I advised him we tried to contact tower as soon as possible, but could not due to so much talk on the radio by tower to other aircraft. We were VFR on the go around. What is the missed approach if you are IFR on the go around. Supplemental information from acn 527965: on go around we were to climb no higher then 1500 ft till end of runway due to an airway going across the top of the airport at 2500 ft. There was not a problem at that time due to no traffic overhead. Is our approach plate for runway 36R correct?

Title: AN A300 CREW, HIGH ON SHORT FINAL TO MCO, EXECUTED A GAR DUE TO AN ACFT ON RWY.

Narrative: ON FINAL APCH TO RWY 36R AT MCO WE WERE AT 6000 FT CLRED TO INTERCEPT ILS WHILE CIRCUMNAVIGATING TSTMS. PICKED UP RWY ABOUT 2 MI OUT, ANOTHER ACFT WAS SITTING ON RWY. WE WERE HIGH ON GS. AT ABOUT 800 FT WITH THE OTHER ACFT STILL ON RWY WE COMMENCED A GAR. TRIED TO NOTIFY TWR. UNABLE DUE TO TWR TALKING TO SEVERAL OTHER ACFT TRYING TO AVOID WX. MISSED APCH INSTRUCTIONS CALL FOR STRAIGHT AHEAD CLIMB TO 500 FT FOLLOWED BY LEFT CLIMBING TURN TO OM NDB TO 3000 FT AND HOLD. FINALLY GOT THROUGH TO TWR GOING THROUGH 2000 FT INDICATED. TWR INSTRUCTED US TO TURN LEFT TO HDG 190 DEGS AND CLIMB TO 4000 FT. ON CONTACT WITH APCH, APCH TOLD HIM WE WERE HIGH ON GS AND BECAUSE OF THE OTHER ACFT ON RWY. HE SAID THERE WAS PLENTY OF SEPARATION BETWEEN THAT ACFT AND US. HE SAID IT WAS UNUSUAL FOR A LARGE ACFT TO GAR AT MCO. GOT VECTORED FOR ANOTHER ILS WITH APCH AND LNDG UNEVENTFUL. WHILE TURNING OFF RWY TWR INSTRUCTED US TO CALL APCH CTL VIA TELEPHONE. THAT INDIVIDUAL ADVISED ME HAD I CONTACTED TWR ASAP THEY WOULD HAVE CLIMBED US TO 15000 FT UNTIL END OF RWY DUE TO AN AIRWAY PASSING OVER THE ARPT AT 2500 FT. I ADVISED HIM WE TRIED TO CONTACT TWR ASAP, BUT COULD NOT DUE TO SO MUCH TALK ON THE RADIO BY TWR TO OTHER ACFT. WE WERE VFR ON THE GAR. WHAT IS THE MISSED APCH IF YOU ARE IFR ON THE GAR. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 527965: ON GAR WE WERE TO CLIMB NO HIGHER THEN 1500 FT TILL END OF RWY DUE TO AN AIRWAY GOING ACROSS THE TOP OF THE ARPT AT 2500 FT. THERE WAS NOT A PROB AT THAT TIME DUE TO NO TFC OVERHEAD. IS OUR APCH PLATE FOR RWY 36R CORRECT?
