Narrative:
Upon approaching the runway for takeoff, myself, the #4 flight attendant and a non revenue flight attendant in the last row, all heard loud scraping and grinding noises coming from the right engine area. I immediately called the cockpit, even though sterile chime had rung. Captain listened to my explanation and decided to pull off runway to check it out. First officer came to the rear of the cabin to listen to engines and all seemed fine. We got back in line for takeoff and noise abated until after takeoff the wheels going into belly made some grinding noise. About 10 mins later the captain called to advise that we had lost hydraulics on the right side and were returning to ord for an emergency landing, yet returning to ord. We landed without incident and plane was taken OTS. We were given another plane and left 2 1/2 hours late for ZZZ, us.
