Narrative:
During vectoring for udd, crew mistook psp for our destination. ATC cleared us for a visual in spite of our report of our position as being nearly over udd. We proceeded inbound and canceled IFR on final. Shortly thereafter, we realized our mistake, initiated a go around, contacted psp tower and confessed our mistake. They said there had been no loss of separation and there was no problem. We apologized and continued to udd. This incident could have easily been avoided by better crew vigilance and better ATC supervision, although the ultimate responsibility rests with the crew.

Title: C560 FLC MADE A VISUAL APCH TO THE WRONG ARPT, AND CONSEQUENTLY ENTERED CLASS D AIRSPACE WITHOUT CLRNC, AFTER BEING CLRED FOR A VISUAL BY ATC OVER THE INTENDED ARPT.
Narrative: DURING VECTORING FOR UDD, CREW MISTOOK PSP FOR OUR DEST. ATC CLRED US FOR A VISUAL IN SPITE OF OUR RPT OF OUR POS AS BEING NEARLY OVER UDD. WE PROCEEDED INBOUND AND CANCELED IFR ON FINAL. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, WE REALIZED OUR MISTAKE, INITIATED A GAR, CONTACTED PSP TWR AND CONFESSED OUR MISTAKE. THEY SAID THERE HAD BEEN NO LOSS OF SEPARATION AND THERE WAS NO PROB. WE APOLOGIZED AND CONTINUED TO UDD. THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN AVOIDED BY BETTER CREW VIGILANCE AND BETTER ATC SUPERVISION, ALTHOUGH THE ULTIMATE RESPONSIBILITY RESTS WITH THE CREW.
