Narrative:
Replaced the automatic speed brake handle actuator on ship X for circuit breaker tripping. Tested speed brake actuator per maintenance manual with test set. Operation was normal. Signed off item in logbook and released the aircraft to service. I failed to have inspector look at this item. This speed brake handle actuator is an rii item. Usually only actuators connected to the actual control surface require rii inspection. Also, this is the only aircraft that requires the 'handle' actuator be inspected. A note in the maintenance manual would be a beneficial reminder.

Title: A B737-200 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE SPOILER HANDLE ACTUATOR REPLACED, BUT THE REQUIRED FAA INSPECTION NOT ACCOMPLISHED.
Narrative: REPLACED THE AUTO SPD BRAKE HANDLE ACTUATOR ON SHIP X FOR CIRCUIT BREAKER TRIPPING. TESTED SPD BRAKE ACTUATOR PER MAINT MANUAL WITH TEST SET. OP WAS NORMAL. SIGNED OFF ITEM IN LOGBOOK AND RELEASED THE ACFT TO SVC. I FAILED TO HAVE INSPECTOR LOOK AT THIS ITEM. THIS SPD BRAKE HANDLE ACTUATOR IS AN RII ITEM. USUALLY ONLY ACTUATORS CONNECTED TO THE ACTUAL CTL SURFACE REQUIRE RII INSPECTION. ALSO, THIS IS THE ONLY ACFT THAT REQUIRES THE 'HANDLE' ACTUATOR BE INSPECTED. A NOTE IN THE MAINT MANUAL WOULD BE A BENEFICIAL REMINDER.
