Narrative:
On the ATIS at hou, taxiway Z was closed between gate xo and taxiway D. Ground control asked us to taxi onto taxiway Z to give way while 2 other aircraft taxied out for takeoff. We then were cleared to taxi to the gate. There were no markings, lighting or barriers to indicate the taxiway was closed. When we got to the gate, hou operations wanted to know why we taxied on taxiway Z.

Narrative: ON THE ATIS AT HOU, TXWY Z WAS CLOSED BTWN GATE XO AND TXWY D. GND CTL ASKED US TO TAXI ONTO TXWY Z TO GIVE WAY WHILE 2 OTHER ACFT TAXIED OUT FOR TKOF. WE THEN WERE CLRED TO TAXI TO THE GATE. THERE WERE NO MARKINGS, LIGHTING OR BARRIERS TO INDICATE THE TXWY WAS CLOSED. WHEN WE GOT TO THE GATE, HOU OPS WANTED TO KNOW WHY WE TAXIED ON TXWY Z.
