Narrative:

The aircraft departed from the addison airport, dallas, tx, at approximately XA45Z. A preflight briefing had been obtained and an IFR flight plan filed. On arrival into the houston area, we were advised that WX conditions were marginal. We elected to attempt an ILS approach to runway 35 at destination airport, sugar land, tx. Houston approach control provided vectors to the final approach course and issued clearance for the approach, followed by clearance to land issued by sugar land tower. Arriving at the missed approach point the aircraft had drifted off to the right and power was applied to execute the missed approach. Before a positive climb rate could be established the aircraft settled and a momentary contact with tree tops occurred, resulting in some damage to left wing leading edge and minor dents to main gear strut leading edge. The flight diverted to hobby airport for an ILS approach to runway 4. The approach was successful and a normal landing resulted.

Narrative: THE ACFT DEPARTED FROM THE ADDISON ARPT, DALLAS, TX, AT APPROX XA45Z. A PREFLT BRIEFING HAD BEEN OBTAINED AND AN IFR FLT PLAN FILED. ON ARR INTO THE HOUSTON AREA, WE WERE ADVISED THAT WX CONDITIONS WERE MARGINAL. WE ELECTED TO ATTEMPT AN ILS APCH TO RWY 35 AT DEST ARPT, SUGAR LAND, TX. HOUSTON APCH CTL PROVIDED VECTORS TO THE FINAL APCH COURSE AND ISSUED CLRNC FOR THE APCH, FOLLOWED BY CLRNC TO LAND ISSUED BY SUGAR LAND TWR. ARRIVING AT THE MISSED APCH POINT THE ACFT HAD DRIFTED OFF TO THE R AND PWR WAS APPLIED TO EXECUTE THE MISSED APCH. BEFORE A POSITIVE CLB RATE COULD BE ESTABLISHED THE ACFT SETTLED AND A MOMENTARY CONTACT WITH TREE TOPS OCCURRED, RESULTING IN SOME DAMAGE TO L WING LEADING EDGE AND MINOR DENTS TO MAIN GEAR STRUT LEADING EDGE. THE FLT DIVERTED TO HOBBY ARPT FOR AN ILS APCH TO RWY 4. THE APCH WAS SUCCESSFUL AND A NORMAL LNDG RESULTED.
