Narrative:
On departure SID from cos international, altitude was 10000 ft MSL. Departure control cleared us to 12000 ft MSL at same time we had aircraft emergency. PF continued through 12000 ft to 13000 dr. I had set 14000 ft in the altitude alerter. At 13000 ft, departure control told us to hold 12000 ft. We returned to 12000 ft MSL and did an air return back to position. Landed safely. Supplemental information from acn 536221: distraction with mechanical problems caused the altitude problem.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 536221: DISTR WITH MECHANICAL PROBS CAUSED THE ALT PROB.
