Narrative:

I was on short final for runway 36L when my student brought to my attention that there was a plane below us. I went to inform tower, but they noticed before I could do so and made the plane take evasive action. I was cleared to land #2. I had my traffic in sight, which was on the runway. How I saw the occurrence happen was the plane that ended up below me was suppose to follow me and didn't and entered the final approach leg with the intention to land. The contributing factors to this occurrence I think are that the pilot did not follow the directions of the tower properly or thought the plane in front on the runway was the traffic he was supposed to follow. Also, I feel the controller was not paying attention and almost allowed a bad situation to occur.

Title: C152 INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT HAD AN NMAC WITH A C172 IN FLL CLASS D AIRSPACE.

Narrative: I WAS ON SHORT FINAL FOR RWY 36L WHEN MY STUDENT BROUGHT TO MY ATTN THAT THERE WAS A PLANE BELOW US. I WENT TO INFORM TWR, BUT THEY NOTICED BEFORE I COULD DO SO AND MADE THE PLANE TAKE EVASIVE ACTION. I WAS CLRED TO LAND #2. I HAD MY TFC IN SIGHT, WHICH WAS ON THE RWY. HOW I SAW THE OCCURRENCE HAPPEN WAS THE PLANE THAT ENDED UP BELOW ME WAS SUPPOSE TO FOLLOW ME AND DIDN'T AND ENTERED THE FINAL APCH LEG WITH THE INTENTION TO LAND. THE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS TO THIS OCCURRENCE I THINK ARE THAT THE PLT DID NOT FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF THE TWR PROPERLY OR THOUGHT THE PLANE IN FRONT ON THE RWY WAS THE TFC HE WAS SUPPOSED TO FOLLOW. ALSO, I FEEL THE CTLR WAS NOT PAYING ATTN AND ALMOST ALLOWED A BAD SIT TO OCCUR.
