Narrative:
While in the traffic pattern at prc my student and I were practicing touch-and-goes in the left downwind for runway 21L. We had gotten abeam the departure end of the runway when I noticed a piper comanche turned early crosswind and caused near midair collision. Luckily my student didn't hold traffic pattern altitude so the comanche turned downwind right over us. I asked tower what he was doing and they said they didn't know. So I requested a 360 degree turn for spacing. Both the comanche and I landed without incident.
