Narrative:
On a flight from ZZZ2 airport to ZZZ3 airport, I may have inadvertently flew into a restr area. I believe the FAA should send all active pilots updates on any changes that are not on current maps. It's my understanding now that the restr area has been increased in size. This is not depicted on charts which become obsolete october 3, 2002. I was not informed by the briefer that this area had been increased in size. ZZZ center informed me that I had flown thru a restr area and gave me a phone number to call after landing. No corrective action was taken. I was informed after incident had occurred. Upon approaching the restr area, I intentionally went south of my course to increase my distance from the area not wanting to just barely miss, but have an increased margin of clearance. I studied my maps before departure, I was using GPS, and apollo LORAN which showed I was well clear of the area. I called flight service, checked WX, received NOTAMS, filed flight plan. Previously was dropped by flight following because of my radio being garbled, and not understandable. I was reluctant to keep calling for flight following.
