Narrative:
On 02/fri/02, I planned a flight from northeast ZZZ1 to ZZZ2. I contacted FSS for a briefing on my proposed route. I decided with the advice of FSS to fly south to va and then turn wbound due to inclement WX. At this time a NOTAM was given to me about the dc area. After more discussion I then summed up my route to the briefer and everything looked fine on route. No mention was made about the tra at ZZZ. I am finding a problem with the information regarding the tra's given to us by FSS. I spoke with FSS after the tra was cancelled in the bravo's after the 09/tue/01. The briefer told me that the only tra's in the country in effect is one of 2 miles around ground zero and a 3 mile tra around a fuel depot around boston. The briefer even mentioned that there were tra's cancelled in ca, hi, and tx. When I spoke with FSS yesterday, I was told that this tra went into effect after 09/tue/01 and has never been cancelled. Somewhere there is a breakdown in communication. This brings me to my situation. If I had flight following, I believe this situation would not have happened. When I travel across country from now on, I will be using this service to aid in preventing this happening again.

Title: A C310 PLT VIOLATED A TFR INVOLVING A MILITARY INSTALLATION.
Narrative: ON 02/FRI/02, I PLANNED A FLT FROM NE ZZZ1 TO ZZZ2. I CONTACTED FSS FOR A BRIEFING ON MY PROPOSED RTE.
