Narrative:
Entered from south and called control -- no answer. New digital radio and lights went out on 2 digits. Still had correct frequency but no reply, so I announced 5 mi out of intentions and announced entering of downwind. Never could get reply, so I kept announcing all intentions -- base, final, clearing, then parked in front of operations to get gas. Asked lady if tower was open and she said it should be. So after gas, dialed up clearance (ground) and it worked. They gave me clearance to taxi to active. At active, I called on all frequencys and could get no reply. Thought maybe tower was closed so I announced on all frequencys that I was taxiing to active after clearing all ways and after a truck crossed active runway. Took off and heard tower call my number. Tried to reply on their frequency and also on ground frequency, but could not get reply. Called them (telephone) next day. Was told I was reported. Am getting radios looked at, although they are brand new. Event has been very disturbing to me because I was told to update my old radios to new ones, which I did. Will reply to you what the fault of radios was, and why. Had BFR in florida 2 weeks ago and instructor was very strict and thorough (complete). Went over everything.

Title: UNAUTH LNDG AND SUBSEQUENT UNAUTH TKOF FROM A TWRED ARPT WHEN THE PLT OF A C182 HAS A RADIO PROB.
Narrative: ENTERED FROM S AND CALLED CTL -- NO ANSWER. NEW DIGITAL RADIO AND LIGHTS WENT OUT ON 2 DIGITS. STILL HAD CORRECT FREQ BUT NO REPLY, SO I ANNOUNCED 5 MI OUT OF INTENTIONS AND ANNOUNCED ENTERING OF DOWNWIND. NEVER COULD GET REPLY, SO I KEPT ANNOUNCING ALL INTENTIONS -- BASE, FINAL, CLRING, THEN PARKED IN FRONT OF OPS TO GET GAS. ASKED LADY IF TWR WAS OPEN AND SHE SAID IT SHOULD BE. SO AFTER GAS, DIALED UP CLRNC (GND) AND IT WORKED. THEY GAVE ME CLRNC TO TAXI TO ACTIVE. AT ACTIVE, I CALLED ON ALL FREQS AND COULD GET NO REPLY. THOUGHT MAYBE TWR WAS CLOSED SO I ANNOUNCED ON ALL FREQS THAT I WAS TAXIING TO ACTIVE AFTER CLRING ALL WAYS AND AFTER A TRUCK CROSSED ACTIVE RWY. TOOK OFF AND HEARD TWR CALL MY NUMBER. TRIED TO REPLY ON THEIR FREQ AND ALSO ON GND FREQ, BUT COULD NOT GET REPLY. CALLED THEM (TELEPHONE) NEXT DAY. WAS TOLD I WAS RPTED. HAD BFR IN FLORIDA 2 WKS AGO AND INSTRUCTOR WAS VERY STRICT AND THOROUGH (COMPLETE). WENT OVER EVERYTHING.
