Narrative:
Both the copilot and I heard bay approach (I don't remember the frequency) say you are following a B747 6 mi ahead to runway 28L then he gave heading 310 degrees intercept the localizer and cross dumba at something. I said to repeat the intersection and he said dumba and I said that's on runway 28R and he said yes you are cleared runway 28R. So we went past the runway 28R localizer till we got it tuned. We think that following B747 to runway 28L led us to mishear or he never gave us runway 28R till the last second.

Title: B767 CREW WAS GIVEN A LAST SECOND CHANGE IN RWY FROM RWY 28L TO RWY 28R IN SFO. THE FAA HAS ESTABLISHED DIFFERENT INTXN NAMES AT CO-LOCATED PLACES 16 MI OUT.
Narrative: BOTH THE COPLT AND I HEARD BAY APCH (I DON'T REMEMBER THE FREQ) SAY YOU ARE FOLLOWING A B747 6 MI AHEAD TO RWY 28L THEN HE GAVE HEADING 310 DEGS INTERCEPT THE LOC AND CROSS DUMBA AT SOMETHING. I SAID TO REPEAT THE INTXN AND HE SAID DUMBA AND I SAID THAT'S ON RWY 28R AND HE SAID YES YOU ARE CLRED RWY 28R. SO WE WENT PAST THE RWY 28R LOC TILL WE GOT IT TUNED. WE THINK THAT FOLLOWING B747 TO RWY 28L LED US TO MISHEAR OR HE NEVER GAVE US RWY 28R TILL THE LAST SECOND.
