Narrative:
I am a student pilot. I was planning a cross country flight for the purpose of review before my chkride. I obtained all of the information pertinent to my flight. I plotted it out on my sectional charts. When I called flight service to get a WX briefing, he had asked if was aware of the tfr. I replied yes, and got the WX and filed a flight plan. When I found out what plane I was to fly, I discovered that it was in need of a VOR check, and wanted to do that because I needed the practice. To do this, I had to deviate from my flight plan to ZZZ2 to do a vot check. In doing so I was unable to get back on proper flight track. I was not using my GPS, only pltage and dead reckoning. By doing this I had found myself in the tfr. Supplemental information from acn 543702: I am a flight instructor. Student returned to ZZZ. I investigate by getting all his details, by examining his radar track, it was determined that he was indeed inside the 40 mile arc and in violation. I did not take the time to plot the tfr on the student's chart, nor did I require him to do so. Therefore we both missed the fact that his proposed course went very close to the tfr and airport was actually inside the tfr. Contributing to this was ZZZ2 FSS who gave my student the standard briefing before he departed describing the tfr. My student understood the tfr to be further north and east then it actually was. Corrective active, flight school is implementing special use airspace tfr NOTAM bulletin board updated daily. AFSS, FSS personnel must make sure student pilots understand the dimension of the tfr's. The tfr around cape canaveral is unnecessarily large. This extra square mile area impedes the lawful flight of dozens of aircraft and targets part 91 operations unfairly. It should be changed or removed.

Title: UNAUTH UNCOORD PENETRATION OF A TFR NEAR A RESTR AREA BY A PA28 STUDENT PLT NEAR ZZZ, US.
Narrative: I AM A STUDENT PLT. I WAS PLANNING A CROSS COUNTRY FLT FOR THE PURPOSE OF REVIEW BEFORE MY CHKRIDE. I OBTAINED ALL OF THE INFO PERTINENT TO MY FLT. I PLOTTED IT OUT ON MY SECTIONAL CHARTS. WHEN I CALLED FLT SERVICE TO GET A WX BRIEFING, HE HAD ASKED IF WAS AWARE OF THE TFR. I REPLIED YES, AND GOT THE WX AND FILED A FLT PLAN. WHEN I FOUND OUT WHAT PLANE I WAS TO FLY, I DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS IN NEED OF A VOR CHK, AND WANTED TO DO THAT BECAUSE I NEEDED THE PRACTICE. TO DO THIS, I HAD TO DEVIATE FROM MY FLT PLAN TO ZZZ2 TO DO A VOT CHK. IN DOING SO I WAS UNABLE TO GET BACK ON PROPER FLT TRACK. I WAS NOT USING MY GPS, ONLY PLTAGE AND DEAD RECKONING. BY DOING THIS I HAD FOUND MYSELF IN THE TFR. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 543702: I AM A FLT INSTRUCTOR. THEREFORE WE BOTH MISSED THE FACT THAT HIS PROPOSED COURSE WENT VERY CLOSE TO THE TFR AND ARPT WAS ACTUALLY INSIDE THE TFR. CONTRIBUTING TO THIS WAS ZZZ2 FSS WHO GAVE MY STUDENT THE STANDARD BRIEFING BEFORE HE DEPARTED DESCRIBING THE TFR. MY STUDENT UNDERSTOOD THE TFR TO BE FURTHER N AND E THEN IT ACTUALLY WAS. CORRECTIVE ACTIVE, FLT SCHOOL IS IMPLEMENTING SPECIAL USE AIRSPACE TFR NOTAM BULLETIN BOARD UPDATED DAILY. AFSS, FSS PERSONNEL MUST MAKE SURE STUDENT PLTS UNDERSTAND THE DIMENSION OF THE TFR'S. THE TFR AROUND CAPE CANAVERAL IS UNNECESSARILY LARGE. THIS EXTRA SQUARE MILE AREA IMPEDES THE LAWFUL FLT OF DOZENS OF ACFT AND TARGETS PART 91 OPS UNFAIRLY. IT SHOULD BE CHANGED OR REMOVED.
