Narrative:
Normal 2A service of JT8 on DC9. Right engine oil service cap has chain on it. Cap hangs directly in front of technician and is fairly long. This causes technician to move it out of way. Cap is not colored! Blends in with engine. Also servicing carts do not allow technician to be at oil servicing port -- must pump at cart and hose is up at port which is approximately 8-10 ft away and can cause over-servicing. Should: 1) remove or shorten chain, 2) color oil cap, 3) servicing cart must allow technician to be at point of service. Right engine on DC9 does not allow for visual of cap without proper work stand -- with or without lower cowl open.
