Narrative:
I replaced a door slide (overwater) with a non overwater slide, and a door assist bottle. Maintenance manual paperwork used during removal and installation. Inside crew chief ordered wrong parts. Passenger service, supervisor, gate agents and the tower all pushing mechanics for on-time departure.

Title: A DOOR ESCAPE SLIDE WAS INSTALLED WHERE A DOOR ESCAPE SLIDE RAFT WAS REQUIRED ON AN OVERWATER B757 ACFT.
Narrative: I REPLACED A DOOR SLIDE (OVERWATER) WITH A NON OVERWATER SLIDE, AND A DOOR ASSIST BOTTLE. MAINT MANUAL PAPERWORK USED DURING REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION. INSIDE CREW CHIEF ORDERED WRONG PARTS. PAX SVC, SUPVR, GATE AGENTS AND THE TWR ALL PUSHING MECHS FOR ON-TIME DEP.
