Cleared for visual approach to runway 18R dfw. On intercept course to localizer, GPS displayed confirmed heading to LOM. Visual contact with another aircraft, same altitude, 12 O'clock position. Turned to right. Other aircraft turned to right also. TCASII cpa was 300 ft. Cleared to tower. Other aircraft reported near miss. Remainder of flight uneventful.
