Narrative:
On this flight, aircraft had a previous write-up in the book from 10 days prior which stated that during a maximum power takeoff, egt reached 610 degrees for 30 seconds! The signoff was that it was within limits according to maintenance manual. After talking with company maintenance, I called local maintenance and they came out and showed me the pages in their manual. After an extensive conversation, the mechanic and I agreed that there was some confusion over the terminology of the write-up. According to the chart we were looking at, which showed the normal takeoff power temperatures, the correct maintenance action was to require placarding the ARTS system. Then I was told that company maintenance did not agree with the term 'maximum power' but instead thought that the signoff was correct. On the S80, we have reserve power, maximum power, and standard power limits. Maximum power limits are 595 for 2 mins. However, the write-up had that the temperature had reached 610. Maintenance told me that the pilot was talking about a reserve power takeoff. Therefore, the temperature could be as high as 630 degrees. The language between my flight manual and the maintenance manual appears to confuse the issue. Unable to reach agreement with maintenance, I told the mechanics that I was unwilling to accept the aircraft.

Narrative: ON THIS FLT, ACFT HAD A PREVIOUS WRITE-UP IN THE BOOK FROM 10 DAYS PRIOR WHICH STATED THAT DURING A MAX PWR TKOF, EGT REACHED 610 DEGS FOR 30 SECONDS!
