Narrative:
On departure from clt to bwi, miscom indications between aircraft and controling agencies caused my aircraft to be intercepted due to possible hijacking. We were intercepted by 2 F16's and escorted to our original destination. Aircraft checked on ground by various law enforcement agencies prior to taxi to gate. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that the call sign of the flight was the title of an old civil war song and that during the flight crew's communication check with the departure controller they used a portion of the song that included the 'code word' for hijacking in progress. The controller reacted as prescribed and the flight crew was unable to stop the process. He stated that the flight was escorted all the way to destination.
