Narrative:
Flight attendants from business class suspected 1 of 2 passenger of smoking in lavatory when smoke was smelt during flight. Later during the flight, smoke was smelt again. Flight attendant #4 opened the lavatory door and caught 1 of the suspected passenger with a lit cigarette in his hand. He had been advised that he was not permitted to smoke on board and even after being caught red-handed, he continued to deny that he was smoking. Auths met the flight in dfw and he was taken into custody, still denying that he had smoked. Supplemental information from acn 560752: cockpit crew smelled smoke through ventilation system. They called purser to find source of smoke. Dallas police along with airline passenger service representatives, manager-on-duty from flight service, were present upon arrival at dfw.

Title: 2 FLT ATTENDANT RPTS RELATED TO A PAX CAUGHT SMOKING IN A REAR LAVATORY ON A B767-300 OVERWATER FLT TO DFW, TX.
Narrative: FLT ATTENDANTS FROM BUSINESS CLASS SUSPECTED 1 OF 2 PAX OF SMOKING IN LAVATORY WHEN SMOKE WAS SMELT DURING FLT. LATER DURING THE FLT, SMOKE WAS SMELT AGAIN. FLT ATTENDANT #4 OPENED THE LAVATORY DOOR AND CAUGHT 1 OF THE SUSPECTED PAX WITH A LIT CIGARETTE IN HIS HAND. HE HAD BEEN ADVISED THAT HE WAS NOT PERMITTED TO SMOKE ON BOARD AND EVEN AFTER BEING CAUGHT RED-HANDED, HE CONTINUED TO DENY THAT HE WAS SMOKING. AUTHS MET THE FLT IN DFW AND HE WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY, STILL DENYING THAT HE HAD SMOKED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 560752: COCKPIT CREW SMELLED SMOKE THROUGH VENTILATION SYS. THEY CALLED PURSER TO FIND SOURCE OF SMOKE. DALLAS POLICE ALONG WITH AIRLINE PAX SVC REPRESENTATIVES, MGR-ON-DUTY FROM FLT SVC, WERE PRESENT UPON ARR AT DFW.
