Our aircraft diverted to msy due to the #1 engine failure in-flight. There was a loud bang, then the aircraft shook for a min or so. Flight attendants followed the captain's instructions to prepare the cabin for a 1 engine landing without the anticipation of a ground evacuate/evacuation. Flight attendants obtained and reviewed emergency procedures. The flight landed at msy with no further incident.
