Narrative:

Ord tower frequency 126.9 was departing traffic runways 9L and 4L while also landing runway 9L. Aircraft ahead of us departed runway 9L and we were cleared into position and hold runway 9L. First officer acknowledged position and hold runway 9L. Upon turning left onto taxiway J for wy 9L, aircrew cleared left for landing traffic and saw aircraft on final. Captain stopped aircraft on runway 9L hold line. Tower then instructed us to hold short for additional landing traffic. No deviations or traffic noted by us or tower.
