Narrative:
Flight was late leaving the gate due to WX, taxiing to the gate from the hangar and deicing. We took off around XA40 and about 10 mins into flight 2-3 loud bangs occurred coming from the engine, at the same time the aircraft vibrated and bounced or shook. I took my jump seat and called the captain. He made several announcements and told us we would be returning to ZZZ. Captain gave us a quick briefing and told us there was no indication in the cockpit of anything amiss. The engines became louder and louder. We landed without incident. Emergency equipment met our aircraft. We got to the gate and our captain told us it was a compressor stall and also something in the right engine thrust itself forward and bent the blades of the engine forward towards the nose of the aircraft.
