Narrative:

Aircraft was cruising at FL430 when the cabin door light came on along with the master caution. The controller was advised of the problem and that we needed a descent 'now.' he said 'stand by.' we started a descent and declared an emergency. We were advised that publication was the nearest suitable airport. We were vectored to publication and terminated our emergency at 14000 ft. After landing the aircraft, a mechanic discovered a malfunctioning door switch.

Title: G3 FLT CREW HAS CABIN DOOR WARNING DURING CRUISE, DECLARES AN EMER AND DIVERTS TO PUB.

Narrative: ACFT WAS CRUISING AT FL430 WHEN THE CABIN DOOR LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE MASTER CAUTION. THE CTLR WAS ADVISED OF THE PROB AND THAT WE NEEDED A DSCNT 'NOW.' HE SAID 'STAND BY.'
