Narrative:
Received taxi clearance: taxi runway 9L via alpha, delta, hold short 17 at echo. (Should have been kilo.) copied clearance. Read back a, D, hold short 17 at east, going to 9L. Received acknowledgement--that's correct (but it was not). Taxied a, D and looking for east (should have been K) crossed 9L. Controller said, looks like you missed your turn there. Cross 17, (turn right) on east hold short 9L. (Later) cross 9L, left on K. No further mention or question of event. Taxiway D runs along runway 17 of which I was to hold short. Did not verify discrepancy in clearance versus actual taxi route until having just crossed 9L. As I believed first hold short requirement was being complied with as information was acknowledged correct. Less familiar with route to 9L to immediately suspect any discrepancy. Will verify accuracy of entire route before beginning taxi in future.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: C208 PLT HAD A RWY INCURSION AFTER THE GND CTLR GAVE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS THAT DID NOT MAKE SENSE.
Narrative: RECEIVED TAXI CLRNC: TAXI RWY 9L VIA ALPHA, DELTA, HOLD SHORT 17 AT ECHO. (SHOULD HAVE BEEN KILO.) COPIED CLRNC. READ BACK A, D, HOLD SHORT 17 AT E, GOING TO 9L. RECEIVED ACKNOWLEDGEMENT--THAT'S CORRECT (BUT IT WAS NOT). TAXIED A, D AND LOOKING FOR E (SHOULD HAVE BEEN K) CROSSED 9L. CTLR SAID, LOOKS LIKE YOU MISSED YOUR TURN THERE. CROSS 17, (TURN RIGHT) ON E HOLD SHORT 9L. (LATER) CROSS 9L, L ON K. NO FURTHER MENTION OR QUESTION OF EVENT. TXWY D RUNS ALONG RWY 17 OF WHICH I WAS TO HOLD SHORT. DID NOT VERIFY DISCREPANCY IN CLRNC VERSUS ACTUAL TAXI RTE UNTIL HAVING JUST CROSSED 9L. AS I BELIEVED FIRST HOLD SHORT REQUIREMENT WAS BEING COMPLIED WITH AS INFO WAS ACKNOWLEDGED CORRECT. LESS FAMILIAR WITH RTE TO 9L TO IMMEDIATELY SUSPECT ANY DISCREPANCY. WILL VERIFY ACCURACY OF ENTIRE RTE BEFORE BEGINNING TAXI IN FUTURE.
