Narrative:
I left huf, hollman field and climbed out, attempted to reach tops forecasted to be 7000 ft. I forgot to retract the gear, so climb was not as fast as usual. At 5500 ft, I had accumulated 1/2-3/4 inches of ice. I informed ATC, and they vectored me back to the field. ATC handled me as if emergency vectoring altitude to get me below clouds. Great job.

Title: A PA32R PLT FORGETS TO RETRACT THE LNDG GEAR, WHICH IN TURN, SLOWS CLB AND ICE ACCUMULATES ON ACFT.
Narrative: I LEFT HUF, HOLLMAN FIELD AND CLBED OUT, ATTEMPTED TO REACH TOPS FORECASTED TO BE 7000 FT. I FORGOT TO RETRACT THE GEAR, SO CLB WAS NOT AS FAST AS USUAL.
