Narrative:

I recently flew your airline to hawaii from vancouver, and then inter-island from maui to honolulu. We traveled first class and the flight from vancouver to maui was entirely satisfactory. Nevertheless our flight from maui on apr/fri/03, was on a B737-200 series that was in appalling interior condition. The partition in front of me was broken and hanging apart, the window mounting was split in several places, the main door seals were split and hanging loose, the toilet was inoperative, the walls were black with grime, etc. I am a frequent flyer in many countries where one might not expect high standards, but this was certainly the worst plane my wife or I have experienced. The cabin crew told us you were short of planes and this one had been brought out of cargo, well that maybe but, it does nothing to enhance your image as an airline that pays attention to customer safety or comfort. I doubt the plane could have passed an FAA inspection.

Title: A PAX LETTER RPT TO THE ACR PRESIDENT REGARDING THE SANITARY CONDITIONS AND SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS OF A B737-200 ON A FLT FROM OGG, HI.

Narrative: I RECENTLY FLEW YOUR AIRLINE TO HAWAII FROM VANCOUVER, AND THEN INTER-ISLAND FROM MAUI TO HONOLULU. WE TRAVELED FIRST CLASS AND THE FLT FROM VANCOUVER TO MAUI WAS ENTIRELY SATISFACTORY. NEVERTHELESS OUR FLT FROM MAUI ON APR/FRI/03, WAS ON A B737-200 SERIES THAT WAS IN APPALLING INTERIOR CONDITION. THE PARTITION IN FRONT OF ME WAS BROKEN AND HANGING APART, THE WINDOW MOUNTING WAS SPLIT IN SEVERAL PLACES, THE MAIN DOOR SEALS WERE SPLIT AND HANGING LOOSE, THE TOILET WAS INOP, THE WALLS WERE BLACK WITH GRIME, ETC. I AM A FREQUENT FLYER IN MANY COUNTRIES WHERE ONE MIGHT NOT EXPECT HIGH STANDARDS, BUT THIS WAS CERTAINLY THE WORST PLANE MY WIFE OR I HAVE EXPERIENCED. THE CABIN CREW TOLD US YOU WERE SHORT OF PLANES AND THIS ONE HAD BEEN BROUGHT OUT OF CARGO, WELL THAT MAYBE BUT, IT DOES NOTHING TO ENHANCE YOUR IMAGE AS AN AIRLINE THAT PAYS ATTN TO CUSTOMER SAFETY OR COMFORT. I DOUBT THE PLANE COULD HAVE PASSED AN FAA INSPECTION.
