Narrative:
Was reassigned (along with first officer) on way to stl to ferry the aircraft we were then flying, to tul from stl. Then fly ferry flight back to stl. No information on what we were to do other than ferry down to tul and back on paperwork or release. As I recall, no ballast fuel was entered on release and or flight plan, although 1 passenger was shown for weight and balance purposes? Air carrier personnel in tul said aircraft it was signed off, and ready to go. Gave us logbook and a 28 page bundle of paperwork 'required' to go along with aircraft. Last flight entry in logbook for flight was oct/wed/02. Aircraft had both engines changed, was parked, and had not been flown that I know of. Are we test/check pilots to fly these after sitting all this time? I did not feel terribly comfortable flying this aircraft after 2 engine changes, and having been parked for almost 7 months, with little to no information. Is this not test/check pilot duty. I do not feel this should be line pilot operation.

Narrative: WAS REASSIGNED (ALONG WITH FO) ON WAY TO STL TO FERRY THE ACFT WE WERE THEN FLYING, TO TUL FROM STL. THEN FLY FERRY FLT BACK TO STL. NO INFO ON WHAT WE WERE TO DO OTHER THAN FERRY DOWN TO TUL AND BACK ON PAPERWORK OR RELEASE. AS I RECALL, NO BALLAST FUEL WAS ENTERED ON RELEASE AND OR FLT PLAN, ALTHOUGH 1 PAX WAS SHOWN FOR WT AND BAL PURPOSES? ACR PERSONNEL IN TUL SAID ACFT IT WAS SIGNED OFF, AND READY TO GO.
