Narrative:
Cleared to taxi to runway 12R from gate via taxiway north to taxiway G. Took an immediate right turn to taxiway north then left paralleling runways 3/21 on right, (mistook for runway 12R) continued to taxi straight and started to cross runway at taxiway north. The turn on taxiway G was missed. Tower told us to hold short but we were over the line and advised tower. Aircraft on runway 12R preparing for takeoff was advised to hold. We exited the runway and continued to taxi to runway 12R. No conflict occurred while aircraft was holding on runway. Factors: 1) crew rest minimum (8 hours) long day prior did not get to hotel till XA00 am. Felt fine but obviously both were fatigued. 2) unfamiliar airport. Had not been there in over 5 yrs. 3) turn initially right then immediate left on taxiway north paralleling a runway confused both pilots into thinking they were paralleling runway 12R on right of aircraft, as was to be expected after turn onto taxiway G. Both pilots briefed taxi and had airport diagram out on yoke. Fatigue can be insidious.

Title: B737 TAXIING FOR DEP AT SAT CROSSED RWY HOLD LINE.
Narrative: CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 12R FROM GATE VIA TXWY N TO TXWY G. TOOK AN IMMEDIATE R TURN TO TXWY N THEN L PARALLELING RWYS 3/21 ON R, (MISTOOK FOR RWY 12R) CONTINUED TO TAXI STRAIGHT AND STARTED TO CROSS RWY AT TXWY N. THE TURN ON TXWY G WAS MISSED. TWR TOLD US TO HOLD SHORT BUT WE WERE OVER THE LINE AND ADVISED TWR. ACFT ON RWY 12R PREPARING FOR TKOF WAS ADVISED TO HOLD. WE EXITED THE RWY AND CONTINUED TO TAXI TO RWY 12R. NO CONFLICT OCCURRED WHILE ACFT WAS HOLDING ON RWY. FACTORS: 1) CREW REST MINIMUM (8 HRS) LONG DAY PRIOR DID NOT GET TO HOTEL TILL XA00 AM. FELT FINE BUT OBVIOUSLY BOTH WERE FATIGUED. 2) UNFAMILIAR ARPT. HAD NOT BEEN THERE IN OVER 5 YRS. 3) TURN INITIALLY R THEN IMMEDIATE L ON TXWY N PARALLELING A RWY CONFUSED BOTH PLTS INTO THINKING THEY WERE PARALLELING RWY 12R ON R OF ACFT, AS WAS TO BE EXPECTED AFTER TURN ONTO TXWY G. BOTH PLTS BRIEFED TAXI AND HAD ARPT DIAGRAM OUT ON YOKE. FATIGUE CAN BE INSIDIOUS.
