Narrative:
Taking off from teb on the teb 5 departure at XA30 am. On the SID you are required to fly r-hand runway heading till 1500 ft, then wait until 4.5 DME from teb then turn right to heading of 280 degrees then climb to 2000 ft (taking off from runway 24). What we did was took off from runway 24 climbed on runway heading till 1500 ft then turned right to 280 degrees before crossing the 4.5 DME from teb. Departure control turned us back to 240 degrees and pointed out traffic to our right that we could have cut off that was going in to newark. No evasive action was taken. We just turned too early on the departure procedure.
