Narrative:

After rotation on runway 21R, and positive climb, the gear was called for retraction. Immediately, warning indications indicated the nose gear failed to retract in the 'vp' position. ATC was notified and the aircraft maintenance 3000 fr MSL and given radar vectors to troubleshoot the nose gear problem. We went through the QRH for the nose gear and completed it by extending the landing gear. Indications showed three green, gear down and locked. After 30 mins, a precautionary landing was made on runway 22L. No emergency assistance was requested and landed without incident at dtw.

Title: A RETURN TO LAND IS MANDATED FOR THE CREW OF CL65 WHEN THE NOSE GEAR FAILS TO RETRACT AFTER TKOF FROM DTW, MI.

Narrative: AFTER ROTATION ON RWY 21R, AND POSITIVE CLB, THE GEAR WAS CALLED FOR RETRACTION. IMMEDIATELY, WARNING INDICATIONS INDICATED THE NOSE GEAR FAILED TO RETRACT IN THE 'VP' POS. ATC WAS NOTIFIED AND THE ACFT MAINT 3000 FR MSL AND GIVEN RADAR VECTORS TO TROUBLESHOOT THE NOSE GEAR PROB. WE WENT THROUGH THE QRH FOR THE NOSE GEAR AND COMPLETED IT BY EXTENDING THE LNDG GEAR. INDICATIONS SHOWED THREE GREEN, GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED. AFTER 30 MINS, A PRECAUTIONARY LNDG WAS MADE ON RWY 22L. NO EMER ASSISTANCE WAS REQUESTED AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT AT DTW.
